Hello again

So, I am still here.
We are actually on a little family getaway.
Yes, I am paranoid enough to not say that we were leaving ahead of time.
We are gone with the cupcakes of course, K's parents and his sister and her family.

So far it b nnm,mm {that was from Abby}.
Let's try that again shall we?
So far it has been a lot of fun.
We have spent our time laughing and hanging out together.

We are staying at on a house by the lake.
So of course there has been boating and swimming as well.
Well, I didn't go boating, I stayed back with the little kids.
Actually my mother in law came back early too because my oldest niece threw up right before they were loading the boat.
{Fingers crossed for no pukey bugs *shuddering*}
Luckily she is feeling MUCH better so all the cousins are having a good time together again.

Last night after putting the littles to bed K and I took Adison up to the arcade.
It was so nice being able to spend time alone with her.
While there I discovered that I was sick AND had a fever, blah!
We stopped by a gas station on the way home to pick up some meds for me as I felt AWFUL!

This morning after waking up I was sure that I would be spending the day in bed.
I was pleasantly surprised to be feeling much better and after some breakfast we went to tour a cave.
Wow, it was fun.
This is the third time that we have toured a cave {I can't think of a better way to explain this, sorry}.
We just got back from lunching at a yummy Chinese restaurant and went over to the outlet mall to do some window shopping.
I didn't get anything, it was fun to look around.

So, now I am resting.
Adison is fishing with Grandpa and a few cousins.
K and I are hanging out with the littles.

P.S. I totally missed the royal wedding.
I told myself that I wasn't going to watch it, then got sucked into watching one of those TLC shows that they have been doing for the last week.
They showed Prince William holding a little hospitalized baby and I just melted.
Yes, I got sucked in.
Yes, I missed it.
But, I've watched some footage from it and I think that her dress was just magical and princess-y.
Okay, that's all I am going to say about it...I think.

P.P.S. I have a lot more pictures and more detailed things to share, yippee!

I missed you guys!
I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend!

The Bad, the Good and the Funny

Yes, I did write it wrong on purpose and yes I realize that today is Wednesday.
But, we had a DAY yesterday.
I think it needs a GBF post for itself.
So, happy early treat, you get it today.
Yippee!
I can tell you are super excited aren't you!?!

The Bad: Ainsley's eyes looked so bad yesterday morning. Yikes, WHEN ZOMBIES ATTACK! {That kept running through my head when I would look at my poor silly girl.} On my way to pick up Adison from school yesterday I was stopped at a 5-way stop and the lady behind us rear-ended us. Adison fell out of a tree yesterday afternoon and landed on her back. She was climbing with a rope in the tree and the rope snapped. I heard a thud and she started screaming, "MOMMY! MOMMY! MY SPINE HURTS! MOMMY I WANT YOU!!!!" Needless to say, I was freaking out on the inside. But, by the grace of God was able to keep my cool and help out my girl.

The Good: Lee's eyes look SOOOO much better today with her new eye drops, I think the zombies are leaving the building {praying!}. Everyone and everything is fine from out little fender bender yesterday. {Praise the Lord!} While Adison's back is still sore, she is on the mend. {Such an answer to prayers!}

The Funny: Okay, so unless you were there it might not seem quite as funny {or funny at all}. But, the other night Adison ran upstairs to get something towards the end of dinner. The door to go upstairs is right next to Abby's highchair. So, as Adison was opening the door to come back down Abby would yell, "GAH!" and shut the door again. This happened over and over again for about 5 minutes. I was laughing so hard that tears were falling. Have I mentioned how cute/funny/adorable I think my kids are?

How to feed a llama

Ainsley asked me during lunch today:
Mama, how do you feed a llama?
Me: I don't know sweetie, I've never fed a llama before.
Lee: Well, first you put your hand out.
Then the llama smells your hand.
Then it licks your hand.
Then it licks your hand again.
Then it eats the food off of your hand.
Then you get more food on your hand.
Then it eats the food from your hand.
That is how you feed a llama Mama.
Me: Thanks Lee, now I know how to feed a llama if I ever need to.
Lee: Yep, that's how you feed one.

Yes, this is a typical coversation with Ainsley.

She truly says the most random and funny things ever.

Earlier today I posted on Twitter another one of her gems:
Mama, would you be sad if someone put me in a telescope.
Me: Why would someone put you in a telescope.
Lee: Welllllll, some mean guy could put me in a telescope.
Would you be sad Mama.
Me: Yes Lee, I would be very sad if someone put you in a telescope.

Yesterday out of the blue she said to me:
My name is Princess Princess Princess oh Princess

{Picture from this morning.}

She is constantly cracking us up!
Yesterday at dinner we were talking about Ainsley having "zombie eyes."
She thought it was REALLY funny.
I posted a close up of her eye below, it's kinda gross though so scroll down at your own discretion.
Turns out that it isn't pink eye but some sort of eye infection.
We got her some new drops and HOPE that she is feeling better soon.

P.S. Two little ones that are dear to my heart are struggling right now and could really use some prayers.

Some Easter hoppiness and today

On Friday after dropping Adison off at school the little girls and I headed to the store to pick up some Easter egg dye.
Lee picked out the dye.
You're not surprised by this either, are you?

Since Adison didn't have a soccer game on Saturday morning, we decided that we would dye the eggs then.
My plan went nothing like I "planned" but at least we had a goal and it got accomplished.
We decided to wait until Abby took a nap.
She wouldn't have understood and it wouldn't have been as much fun for her.

The big girls though loved it!
Adison really took her time working on her eggs.
Lee on the other hand wanted to draw on and dye as many eggs as humanly possible!
Adison worked on 6, I worked on 2 and K and Lee did 10.
Yes, we did 18 eggs.
I am thinking that I will have to double this for next year.

She was really into it this year and took her time.

Lee was fascinated watching the eggs change colors.

Pretty little eggies!

The glitter in the dye.
Looks pretty, didn't really work out how the box had it pictured.
Glitter + kids = fun not matter what!

Eggs!

Lee got a bit bored, here's K quick thinking craft idea.
It was a hit.

Adison's darling chick egg, she's so creative!

+++++++++++

After we had our fun, festive Easter morning and going to church was nixed {Lee had super gunky eyes} we decided to have a fun family day.

Lee loved her Easter dress.

I walked in the living room and saw the older girls watching a movie in the laundry basket.
Yes, they chose to do this.
I don't get it but they loved it.

Abby hanging out with Daddy in her pretty dress.

Abby and Me!!!!

She wasn't really looking in either picture, so I decided to add them both, ha!

She's getting some really loose curly bits in the back.
{The picture does not do them justice.}

Abby and K.
The big girls were too busy hanging out in the laundry basket.

Okay, flash forward and Ainsley eyes start looking really bad.
They didn't look like pink eye, but weren't responding to the allergy medicine.
K and I decided to call the doctor's office this morning to get pink eye meds for her.
It had to be that.
Right?
So, she woke up this morning and looked like this!
Oh my goodness, my poor child looks like a zombie!

Yes, I HAD to run to the store this morning, but we were safe and I took the proper precautions.
Yes, we were getting crazy looks from people, her eyes really look that bad.
Oh and I got her some pink eye meds.
I HOPE that they start working ASAP!

Okay, y'all, I hope that you had a blessed Easter!
What did you end up doing?

Happy Easter!

Today is a day for rejoicing!
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is risen!

He paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we wouldn't have to.
He died and on the third day He rose again.
He is risen indeed.

This morning the girls woke up at their usual bright and sunny time.
We heard the sound of young voices yelling out to coming downstairs to see if the Easter Bunny had arrived.
He didn't disappoint.

There were Easter baskets and hidden Easter eggs galore.
Through all of the excitement about candy, there was also a sense of excitement and rejoicing for what this day really means for us.

We were planning on going to church this morning but then Lee came down with really nasty, goopy eyes.
Bummer.
Praying this is allergies and NOT pink eye.
Ugh, that stuff transmits like wildfire.

I will forewarn you that there are a lot of pics.

The big girls gawking at their loot.

I don't think Abby knew what to think, she just kept staring.

Look! It's the Easter Bunny & I have photographic evidence!
{Pretty cute EB!}

Enjoying her first chocolate bunny while hanging out with Daddy.

Enjoying the loot!

Candy and a HUGE eraser, what could be better?

Mmmm, chocolate bunny!
She was so methodical with eating it.

Lee's favorite egg.

Sisters sharing, I had to snap a pic to savor the moment ;)

I've got more pics AND Easter egg dyeing pics for yesterday too, I think I'll share those tomorrow.

I hope that your Easter is filled with family, fun and rejoicing!
Have a blessed day!

Insta-Friday

I love Instagram {as you can probably tell!}, so when I saw that Jeannett over at life. rearranged was doing Insta-Friday I knew that I HAD to join!

Happy Good Friday everyone, I pray that you have a blessed Easter!

Ainsley picked out the Easter egg dye out this year.
Are you surprised by her choice, yeah, me neither!

Ainsley {aka Snow White} hanging out with her babies Bango and Mana with some Weeble Wobbles thrown in for good measure.

Our Easter Egg scripture countdown thanks to a dear friend.
The girls LOVE it!
K and I are loving it too!

Lining up to leave before a fun trip to the Art Lab.
{A first trip for Adison, she had a blast!}

It's Spring, which means that I have an added excuse to wear even more pink blush, love it!

Mmmm, my precious.
I love cupcakes, I've mentioned that 1 or 1,000 time before.

Spring!
Look it's here and it brought it's bff rain.

Happy Easter everyone!

5 Question Friday

1. What is your favorite Easter tradition?

2. Are you a "shower" or a "long, hot bath" kind of person?

3. Can you parallel park and if so when is the last time you did it?

4. What is your favorite Easter candy?

5. Easter: do you go all out with the Easter Bunny or focus on the religious part of the holiday?

1. As a child it was always getting my Easter basket, deep right? Now, as an adult, I really love all of it. Talking about the meaning and the importance of Easter with my children, attending church, family get togethers and of course watching my kids get their Easter baskets.

2. A long, hot shower kind of person. Baths are okay, but I never really feel clean afterwards.

3. I cannot parallel park not have I ever tried. It intimidates me.

4. Hands down Cadbury Mini-Eggs.
Oh my goodness, I could {and have, shh} eaten an entire bag in one sitting. I have zero self-control with them.

5. We focus on the religious part but do the Easter Bunny stuff for the kids. It's the best of both worlds.

The Good, the Bad and the Funny

The Good: yesterday was MUCH easier than I thought it would be, such a blessing. Today, Ainsley has been MUCH sweeter. Yesterday I had all three of my kiddos at home with me. Witnessing the joy of firsts on my daughter's faces over the weekend. Abby is talking more! She is saying please, thank you, LOVE YOU and many others, such a gift from God!

The Bad: the weather, ugh. I know the saying, "April showers bring May flowers" but seriously, this is getting ridiculous. I am glad that I didn't put away the winter clothes, because we have STILL needed them. Such is life in the Midwest, sigh. Things have seemed REALLY busy lately. It just seems like there is so much going on and things have felt a bit stressful lately.

The Funny: Ainsley. This. Girl. Is. Hysterical. Today for instance, while Abby was taking a napping Ainsley was pretending to be Snow White. She carried her dolls around and they would carry on conversations and it is just cute.

She is really attached to these dolls right now. They are twin babies, but when I asked her what you call two babies born at the same time, she shouts out PRIVACY!

Then, she decided to name her babies Bango and Mana, well after she named them Mommy and Daddy.
They carried on conversations and took a nap. She even had them lay down with me for a bit.

Easter and other randoms

1. Easter is quickly approaching.
We have been talking about the meaning of Easter as a family and explaining it.
Adison understands the importance and can explain things to Ainsley as well, big sisters rock!

My dear friend, Clara, made us this darling Easter count down activity.

How cute is this?
It's even pink, PERFECTION!

How it works is that each day has a scripture and an egg to go with it.
Each egg has an item inside that coincides with the verse{s}.

This year K is reading the verse and the {big} girls are alternating who gets to open the egg.
Next year Adison will probably read while the littles take turns opening.
This is such an awesome thing to do as a family.

2. I don't know if it is because it is Spring or what, but I am totally in love with blush.
{More in love with it than usual.}
My current obsession is a really pinky pink.
{P.S. Please ignore the dark circles/bags under my eyes, I am not sleeping well again. Blah!}

3. Abby is teething again.
Yes, her lone molar has been fighting it's way through for 2 weeks now.
The last few days she has been crying and crying.
Add that to Ainsley's current temper tantrums/sibling rivalry thing and we've got a lot of crying going on {them, not me...yet}.
So much so that on Monday night I treated myself to one of these.
It was wonderful and now I want another one.
{I haven't mentioned my love of cupcakes before, have I?}

4. Thanks to Erin {aka Daydreaming Fool} via Twitter the other day, I discovered that I have Wisteria growing in my back yard.
It smells wonderful, I wish it lasted longer.
Plus, I don't have to do anything to it/with it to get it to grow and come back each year.
This is the perfect relationship for me to have with a plant.

5. I wore this shirt the other day.
I just had to share because it made me feel pretty and girly.
I especially love that it is an unexpected girly feeling shirt since it is this dark, cobalty blue color.
I don't think that accurately describes the color though.

6. I have noticed this weird thing with coffee lately.
Why is it that two cups of coffee even from the same pot and with roughly the same amounts of milk/creamer can taste so differently?
Anyone else ever ponder these things?
No, oh okay, well I ponder them.

7. I have a confession to make.
I don't decorate for Easter.
Or really any other holiday for that matter other than Christmas {which I REALLY decorate}.
I just felt the need to get that off of my chest.
Whew, what a relief.

8. I am really annoyed with Mother Nature.
I started getting really excited, thinking that this year it might not be too cold for the sleeveless Easter dresses that they ONLY sell.
I started envisioning warm, sunny weather {with a slight breeze} and seeing my girls outside looking for Easter eggs in their festive attire.
Then Mother Nature decided that she didn't like my vision and has given us cold, windy, rainy weather.
Dear Mother Nature, that's not nice!
