Adison started 2nd grade!

My first born, Adison, started 2nd grade. She was so excited, not a drop of nervousness in her.

I for once, was not nervous. I know her teacher, the other teachers, her classmates and pretty much everyone that comes into contact with my outgoing girl.

The neat thing about my girl, is that everyone knows her. Everyone is her buddy or her favorite teacher. I like this about my girl. She always has a hug ready and a smile on her face.

Here she is greeting one of her buddies. She was so excited, this was pretty much the best day ever in her mind.

Off she goes, ready to conquer the world.

A few days into school, she hops in the van after school and tells me:
A: "I told one of my friends that I am the coolest kid in school."
Me: "Really, did they agree?"
A: "Yes they did!"
Me: "Well, there ya go."

Ainsley cried when we dropped Adison off that first day, she cried for a full 20 minutes. The people that walked by us clearly understood her reasons for crying and were very sympathetic. It was so sad, but I knew that this meant that Ains would be soooo excited to pick up her sister from that first day of school. I was right, it was awesome!

We capped off her first day by heading to Sonic for some slushes & hitting the park. What a great day!

Not sure what to blog about

Hello all! I haven't blogged for a while. I keep wanting to, but I almost feel like I need to have a topic. Otherwise, I just blog about what has been going on. Not that that is a bad thing, but I wish that I could write about other things too. I think that it is the inner diplomat, non-wave maker in me that resists this, or maybe I am being lazy, it could be either or neither. Whatever the case may be, I will give another update. Aren't you so very lucky!!!

Well, I will start with myself, simply because I can! I had a hysterectomy two weeks ago. I don't know why I didn't blog about it sooner, but it felt weird. I never posted anything about it on Facebook either, I know, I'm being weird. But, I had a hysterectomy. I know that I am young to have it done, but it was time. I am also the third generation of women in my family who have had it done. I am still recovering, but am getting stronger each day.

The week after my surgery, the girls and I stayed in KC. K's parents are amazing and they offered to take care of us. It was wonderful, I would NOT have been able to take care of three kids and myself during that time. Thanks Bob & Terrie!!!

Adison started 2nd grade...I will give you a moment to let that fact sink in. It is difficult for me to comprehend, it makes me sad. My baby, my first-born is growing up. She is psyched, she got the teacher that she wanted and some of her friends are in her class. Her only upset is that her bff is not in there with her, but they always have recess.

Ainsley, not quite sure what to say about her. She is such a two year old. Ains or Lee, we call her either, is a RIOT!!! She is a wonderful big sister to Abby and keeps Adison on her toes. She is such a little princess too! Anything pink, frilly and girly make her little heart go pitter-patter.

Abby or Babby Cakes is so freakin' cute. I am so grateful that she is my third. I am relaxed and have had enough experience to really enjoy her. She is such a sweet, wonderful, amazing, cute, charming, enchanting baby. Can you tell that I am simply gaga over this girl.

I am constantly amazed at how different my three girls are. I love them all equally but love their individuality. God is amazing, He made these darling girls and gave K & I the honor of raising them.

All three kiddos are happily sleeping, I am off to read a book, rest & hang out with my hubby~

Weekend update

We had a fabulous weekend! We went to KC to celebrate Kirk's mom's birthday.

We got there Friday evening, ate some yummy dinner and chatted. I love those evenings :) Saturday we hung around the house, K's mom & dad took the older girls with them to a fundraiser breakfast, let me tell you, my girls ate some bacon & sausage like it was no one's business!

Abby took a nap while they were gone & I layed on the couch and read. I repeat, I layed on the couch and read! Glorious quiet time. Then Kirk did a  little photo shoot with our delightful baby, look at the bottom for those yummy pics.

Later, while Ains was napping we watched Jurassic Park. Adison loved it, but at times was terrified. She played musical cuddle partners, jumping from adult to adult to cuddle and bury her head. Afterwards though she said it was, "Awesome!"

After the movie, we went over to my sister-in-law, Anna's house to celebrate Terrie's (mother-in-law) birthday. We had so much fun, had a wonderful dinner (think Thanksgiving in July), super yummy cake and a rice crispy treat cake for the kiddos.

Then the kiddos continued playing and playing and playing. It was bliss.

On Sunday, we hung out at K's parents house. We took the kiddos to the park, had some sundaes and capped off the weekend by watching Jurassic Park 2 (again, while Ains napped), not sure if this is the exact name or not, but you know what I mean. Again, Adison played musical adults.

Now, on to the Abby pics. She is so darling!

I know that I might be slightly biased, but she could be the cutest baby EVER!!!!
