Over the weekend, while at the store, I spied a pink pancake mix and thought it would be fun for the girls to have for breakfast the next morning.
The girls were BEYOND excited.
A little Valentine's excitement, a little early celebrating.
I thought it would be a fun treat and was looking forward to making them.
But then, well...then I opened the package, mixed up the ingredients and this is what I saw.

It looked like lumpy Pepto Bismol with a side of chocolate chips tossed in.
I was becoming more and more unsure of them with each passing moment.

But the girls were looking forward to it so I proceeded on.
They so do not look appetizing but I remember being a kid, I probably would have eaten ANYTHING that was pink.

Finished product.
I can't even pretend to say that they look appetizing.
I can't even pretend to say that they look appetizing.
Don't worry, I won't be offended if you agree.
However, the girls loved them.
They ate the entire batch.
Every. single. one. of. them.
{Well, except for the one two that I ate. Apparently I can't stay away from pink food with chocolate chips even if they look unappetizing.}
The look good to me :-) I can taste the syrup now.
