Potty Humor

Potty humor is running rampant in our house.
Well, not technically running, because humor can't run.
I digress.

Potty humor is over taking my house.
It is said at the dinner table {gasp}, it is said in the car, the bath tub, while sitting on the couch.
You get the point right?

I don't like it.
Not one little bit.
I will confess to giggling in the beginning because honestly, who can't appreciate a good tooting joke.
But enough is enough.

Now though it has completely lost any humor or appeal.
It has simply taken over every aspect of conversation it seems.
{Not that I am being dramatic or overly stating things.}

Case in point:

Ainsley, what did you get all over your hair? Poop
I couldn't hear you, what did you say? Fart
What would you like for a snack? Poop
What is that on the floor? Potty
Knock Knock. Who's there? Fart and Poop!

Every attempt to make it stop is met with more giggles.
So I have stopped mentioning it when it happens or even reacting.

Sigh, I know that this like so many other things will pass, that I will miss it and want it back.
At least that is what I tell myself when I hear the word "poop."

  1. I laughed when I read this. I am constantly yelling at my husband for laughing when Karson passes gas, or makes a big deal out of a dirty diaper. I so want to raise my son to simply say 'excuse me.' I realize there is next to no chance of that happening, but a Mommy can try. :-)

  2. I thought that it was just boys who loved the potty talk! I guess its more their age than anything else. At least the girls will grow out of it! Some men never do!

  3. I always thought it happened so much around here because I have two little boys that think it's hilarious. Guess it's not just boys...sorry. They will grow out of it! I am keeping my fingers crossed for my boys.
