A holiday tradition

There is the most amazing neighborhood in our town called Potwin.
It is full of beautiful, old (mostly) Victorian houses.
Makes my mouth water looking at them.
Every year K and I take the kiddos for a car ride after dinner to ooohhh and aaahhh at these beautiful homes.
Most of the houses decorate and I mean DECORATE!
We always pick out our favorite one and love talking about what makes it the prettiest one.
We have to drive the loop twice so that we can look at our favorites again as well as look as everyone else's favorite.
I am pretty predictable.
I like the white lights and they have to be super straight.
It just makes my inner OCD self happy to see straight, symmetrical, beautiful lights.
This year though, I decided that I really like the lights wrapped around the garland, so pretty!
K normally likes the multi-colored lights the best.
The girls, well their taste is always changing.

They have little white stars on the purple trees.

Santa is on the balcony and Mrs. Claus is on the front porch.

Vintage looking Santa

Angel with trumpet.

This is one of my all-time favs. Too bad one of the candy cane shutters fell though.

Perfection.

We all agreed that the trees in all the windows was a beautiful touch.

Again, perfection.

Beautiful Nativity.

K liked how bright the lights were. He said they looked like Red Hots.

What about you?
What is your favorite?

  1. I love to drive around looking for Christmas lights. There was a place in East Texas where we used to go that was I don't know how many acres of lights with music that you could drive through. I keep saying I want to go back!
