She was like a different child

This morning baby B, Abby and I met up with some friends to go to a park.
It was a new park for us, so I was really looking forward to it.
Plus, the friends we went with are in our small group, it's always nice sharing life together.

B loved it!
So smiley and happy.
Thrilled to pieces to see our friends, the kiddos and just to be outside.

Abby though, man, she was like a different child.
My usual happy-go-lucky playground kid was gone.

Instead she was shy, hesitant and unsure.
It was so very odd.
She stuck pretty close to me, never venturing too far away.
I just kept looking at her and commenting on how different this was.

I think it's because she is used to having Ainsley with her.
Ainsley to play with or to tag along with.
Someone to keep her so busy that she didn't realize she was climbing stairs or going down a slide.

It made me think about what good friends my little two are.
They truly do enjoy each others company.

While I do love watching them play together, it is also such a treat to see them play individually, to watch how they differ and how they compliment one another.

We soaked up this lovely Spring morning and are lavishing in it this afternoon too.

How has your day been?

  1. Abby is so cute!! Love sibling bonds...but it is so hard when the can't tell you why they are acting so different. We are keeping ourselves as busy as possible over here...to keep mommy from going crazy. :)

  2. Awww, she's really cute. Kaylin acts that way sometimes when she's with new friends but after a while (or a snack) she always goes back to normal .
