K's 50 questions

I have been asking K FOREVER to write a blog post on this here blog, about anything, ANYTHING!
He told me that he would, but that he didn't know what he would write about.
We tossed ideas around, but nothing really stuck, so I dropped it...for awhile...then asked again...then dropped it.
Today though {clapping hands excitedly!} K decided that he would answer the 50 questions that I answered earlier in the week.

1. Who was the last person you held hands with?
D

2. Are you outgoing or shy?
Depends, do I like you?

3. Who are you looking forward to seeing?
My family, unless the kids are cranky and on it.  Then I look forward to seeing them go to bed ;-)

4. Are you easy to get along with?
Yes, as long as you do it my way

5. Have you ever given up on someone?
Most definitely

6. Do you enjoy school/work?
School was enjoyable, wouldn’t want to go back though.  I enjoy work 95% of the time.

7. What person do you think about most often?
D and also the Smurfs.  There were hundreds of them but you never saw any baby or kid Smurfs.  That’s just weird.

8. What does your most recent text say?
I have an apt to get the severe duty cooling fans in my car’s radiator fixed next week – to D

9. Who did you last speak with for over 30 minutes?
D but I’m not much of a talker

10. Do you believe in good luck?
No, it’s a common saying though, so I am guilty of telling people “good luck”

11. How do you feel in a big crowd of people?
Crowded, if I was a rattle snake my rattle would be going

12. What was the best thing that happened this summer?
Road trips with the family

13. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
Yes, it was D this am

14. Do you think there is life on other planets?
Maybe, God can do whatever.  I do enjoy a good alien flick

15. Do you still think about your first crush/love?
Elementary school was a looonnnggg time ago, so nope

16. What bad habits do you wish you could break?
I can’t think of any

17. What's the first thing you do when you wake up?
Reach for the covers that D has pulled off of me telling me to get up while tickling my feet

18. Did you dream last night? About what?
Probably, but I never really remember my dreams.  When I do they are so strange Dr. Seuss could have used them for inspiration

19. Who is the most comfortable person to be around
D

20. What made you happy today?
Had Indian for lunch! Num num num , chicken tiki masala and veggie korma.

21. Which celebrity would you want to date and why?
None of them really impress me

22. Do you enjoy playing sports?
Yes, when I have time and if it’s not hot outside

23. When was the last time you wrote a thank you note?
Guys don’t write thank you notes

24. Would you rather live without TV or music?
Either, they are both nice to have but I would just read more

25. Are you currently keeping a secret from someone?
Not really, unless not telling the girls what we are getting them for Christmas counts

26. Do you think age matters?
Yes, canoeing the Amazon when you are 90 or at the old age of 5 would have dire results

27. What was the last store you went into?
Wal-Mart to get washer fluid, coolant and HEAT for my car

28. What is your dream job?
Getting paid to live with the family in a 5 bedroom house on 30 acres and fish in my lake or camp out with the kids

29. Do you believe in second chances?
Depends on what screwed up the first chance!  There are some things you just can’t come back from

30. Do you smile at strangers?
No, stranger danger

31. Is your voice quiet or loud?
Depends on the atmosphere

32. Would you rather go to space or to the bottom of the ocean?
Depends on who built the vehicle your sending me out in.  Microsoft, probably not – having to ctl-alt-dlt and reboot in the vacuum of space or at crush depths is not appealing.  Apple, maybe – at least the ship would look good, but third party upgrades would be limited.  US Navy, yep.  NASA, yeah probably.

33. What are you most afraid of?
Losing family members, kid poop and vomit

34. What is the nicest thing someone ever said to you?
Not sure there is one nicest thing.  I like it when people say thank you.

35. Have you done anything you hope no one ever knows about?
Yes, but D already knows about the embarrassing ones.

36. If you could write a book, what would it be about?
“Tales of my youth, some pretty crazy shi..er ah stuff”

37. Do you enjoy bubble baths?
Is there a safe way to answer that question for a guy except to say, ah no!

Fishing, shooting, hiking topped off with some camping.  Ending it around the campfire with some single malt scotch and a nice cigar, telling the kids ghost stories.

39. Would you rather lose your vision or your hearing?
Hearing, not being able to see my kids grow up would be total fail

IDK, Capricorn I think.

“of the church”

42. Do you prefer indoors or outdoors?

Yes, mi esposa

45. Where would you travel if you could go anywhere?
Ireland, Scotland and Fiji

46. What do you do during an awkward silence?

I do enjoy my fall beard

48. Who did you last say "I love you" to?
D and the kids this morning

If you have any questions for K, feel free to ask :)

Five Question Friday

1. What movie do you love to quote?

2. Have you ever ridden a motorcycle?

3. What's your favorite thing to do on a rainy day?

4. Do you prefer a bunch of small gifts, or one really big, (expensive) gift?

5. Do you ever lose track of days and show up somewhere wrong?

1. Oh goodness, I can't choose just one. Steel Magnolias, The Big Chill, Napoleon Dynamite, Ghostbusters, Clueless, my list could go on and on.

2. When I was a child my Dad had two motorcycles. Sometimes, after dinner, he would take me out for a ride. I remember how much I loved being out with my Dad like that.

3. Sleep, cuddle up on the couch with the kids, blankets and movies.

4. Either, I'm pretty easy to please.

5. I used to lose track of the days, now though, with three kids I have to keep track of my schedule. Having a phone with a calendar is such a big help, it keeps me sane!

InstaFriday

life rearranged

It's Friday!
I had been looking forward to this weekend, but then Ainsley woke up at 11:30 last night puking.
Eek.
Right afterwards she was fine and exceptionally chipper.
She hasn't puked since and I am praying that no one else starts puking.
On to the pictures.
I didn't take too many this week, but I love these :)

My Dad got Abby this darling sweatshirt {it came with a Miss Piggy shirt that's under it}.
Abby is obsessed with it!
She loves some Muppets!
She actually cries when I take it off of her, ha!

Happy Halloween!
The girls were so excited to wear their Halloween costumes!
Especially Adison, she couldn't wait to wear her wig.

Wednesday morning Abby and I met up with my friend Jennifer and her youngest two kiddos.
We had a lot of fun.
Abby's favorite was this little tractor driving thing.
She is obsessed with all things drive-able.

I shared this picture earlier in the week of my Americal Girl doll {on the left} and Ainsley's Bitty Baby.
I texted this picture to my mom so she could see my 20 - 25 year old American Girl, Kirsten.
Her response cracked me up:
At first I thought that was Ainsley with the pigtails :-)

As I mentioned earlier, Abby is obsessed with all things drive-able, especially trains.
We have had this Thomas the Train set forever and Abby loves playing with it.
The problem though is with the tracks, the trains don't stay on well and there are ALWAYS tears and tantrums.
Yesterday, I had the idea to draw her a train track and voila, it worked!

The Good, the Bad and the Funny

The Good: the little girls {for the most part} play wonderfully together. It has been such a blessing to watch them play and interact. Coffee, plain and simple. Coffee is a great thing. It's starting to get cold here, I am starting to get excited about Christmas. I think we will put our tree up towards the end of the month. I love the excitement the tree and Nativity set bring to the house. I love talking with Adison, the things that she is pondering right now astonish me, she is growing up.

The Bad: the older girls are just not getting along. They just annoy one another, no way around it. I know that there is love there, I just wish they would show it a bit more, ha! Insomnia reared it's ugly head last night *yawn*.

The Funny: this video is just precious to me. What a cutie! She loves singing the songs from school.

An award and our day

I am so incredibly honored to be given the Liebster Blog award from Nikki at Saving For a Rainy Day. According to Nikki's blog, the Liebster award, "is given to up coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers. "Liebster" is German and means sweetest. kindest, nicest, beloved, loveliest, cutest..." Isn't Nikki the sweetest!

Now for the rules:
1. Thank the giver and link back to her.
2. Reveal your top picks and leave a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love too!

My picks:
Just as I am- Anna is an amazing woman. Her faith is inspiring, her family is beautiful, she is such a sweet friend!
Picture This- Rachel is one of my favorite bloggers EVER! She is so sweet and thoughtful and encouraging, I adore her and I know that you will too!
Enough Faith for Today- I am a somewhat new follower of Kim's blog and I adore her writing style. She is such a wonderful mom and her blog is always a great read.
Smedley Family- I have been reading Kelly's blog for a while now and I always look forward to reading it. Kelly has the sweetest little boy, Karson, and a little brother or sister for him on the way.

********************

It has been a cold and rainy day today.
We are actually expecting snow this evening!

I don't particularly enjoy the snow, but I have to say, there is something so magical about the very first snow.
I hope that I am awake to see it.
This morning, Abby and I met up with my friend, Jennifer, at the discovery center.
It was a really nice morning.
It was also very odd to be out with only one child, ha!
We had such a nice time chatting and playing with the kiddos.
Abby is OBSESSED with her Muppets jacket, she freaked out this morning when I took it off of her.
Eek!

This afternoon, Ainsley saw a commercial for the American Girls dolls.
She was instantly interested in them.
I told her that I had mine from when I was a child {Kirsten} and that I would get her out after we picked Adison up from school.
Lee was SOOOO excited to see her and got out her Bitty Baby so they could play together.
Lee decided to name her baby Kerrigan.

Okay folks, I am off to play trains with Abby and Ainsley and hopefully play a game with Adison.

Five Question Friday

1. Do you have a go to song that always puts you in a good mood?

2. Are you a real Christmas tree kinda person or do you go with a real fake one?

3. What are you thankful for?

4. Which fashion fad from the past do you wish you could wear today?

5. Do you wait until the "low fuel" light comes on before you fill up the gas tank?

1. Mine changes, but yes, I do have songs that I specifically listen to to put me in a good mood. Something cheesy and from the 90s will ALWAYS work.

2. For as long as I can remember we have always had fake trees. Growing up my brother was an asthmatic and couldn't have them, now my husband is an asthmatic and can't have them either. No big deal, I just light a yummy smelling candle instead.

3. My health, my husband, my children, God, my thankful list is brimming.

4. I don't know, I was totally into the fads. Crimped hair, check. Tight rolled jeans, check. Biker shorts, check. You name it, I was into it. I think I would say though that I wish that I gave myself the option to try new fads like I did when I was younger.

5. Normally I wait until the light is one, although, during the winter I try to always keep it well above the "E". I'm just too much of a worrier to handle it getting to low and it gets way too cold here.
