The Good, the Bad and the Funny

Well folks, it's Thursday and you know what that means:
The Good, the Bad and the Funny.

Let's dive right in, shall we?

The Good: We made it out of the house today. Ahh, sweet relief! The snow was truly beautiful, I love watching it snow. I am just not a fan of having to drive in it or really be out in it. (I do really love to shovel it though, shhh!)

The Bad: It is cold, REALLY cold. Due to the above mentioned snow, Adison was out of school for two days. Since we were housebound some cabin fever set in and the big girls had some troubles with getting along.

The Funny: This morning in the car Ainsley asked me how you get to Heaven. Before I had a chance to reply she started right in with: "Can you take a car? How about an airplane? Do you fly to Heaven? Flying in a plane scares me!" It was such a cute little moment.

Thursday 5

Honest

Splendid

Perfect

Spectacular

Fancy

To be honest, I was so happy to get out of the house this morning. Even if it was to take Adison to school, I think we were all getting a bit stir crazy. It was also -5 when we left, brrr!

My hubby ground up some new coffee this morning and it was splendid. It made my morning!

I got a perfect night of sleep last night. Ahh! I got a solid 8 hours of sleep and woke up this morning without a headache. I also didn't have any crazy dreams like I did the other night about Barbara Walters and a house with mazes.

The snow from our blizzard was spectacular. I am constantly amazed by God's artistic work, whether it be beautiful waves in the snow or a lovely sunset, I am just in awe of all He does.

The bigger cupcakes and I did some Valentine's decorating yesterday. We are getting the house all fancy and beautiful for the love celebration.

Beautiful snow pics

***The snow stopped! ***
The cold though, that is still in full force.
It was only 3 degrees when we got up this morning and is now only 13.
Tonight it is supposed to be -4.
Yes, you read that correctly -4!

Sorry, I know that you don't stop by here to get a Kansas weather report.

This morning after my cup of creamer and milk with coffee and after I put the babe down for a nap I headed out to do some shoveling.
Don't tell anyone, but I secretly enjoy shoveling the snow.
It is physical work.
It is not mentally or emotionally draining like so much of the day can be, instead it if a bit refreshing.
I get to be outside and think while enjoying the beauty that is the freshly fallen snow.
Today while shoveling I noticed some beautiful waves in the snow.
They were just too pretty to not share.

I hope that everyone is safe and enjoying their Wednesday!
See you tomorrow!

Embarrasing moments

I thought that since we are having another snow day today and I will NOT be leaving my house that it could be fun to share some embarrassing stories.
Laughter is always a good thing even if it will be at my expense.
Let's just dive right into the embarrassment shall we?
1. When we lived in Tulsa I went to a private high school.
The entire school was in the chapel for some reason.
As we were leaving, I fell down an entire set of cement stairs in front of the entire school.
Add to that the fact that I was a freshman, humiliating.

2. At same school, I was talking with one of my friends after school.
My mom came to pick me up.
I leaned over the car to tell my friend something and my uniform skirt flew up over my head when I big gust of wind blew.
This happened in front of the varsity boys basketball team.
Nice.

3. When we moved to our current town while I was in high school, some friends and I went to a hockey game with some boys.
I was not paying attention to where I was going, probably because I was flipping my hair or something.
As I was talking and probably flipping said hair I walked head first into a column.
I hit it so hard that the entire thing made this really loud, "BONGGGGG" sound.

4. While in college I took a class one summer about religions.
This particular day we were visiting a Jewish Temple.
It was beautiful.
So beautiful in fact that I wasn't paying attention, tripped and sprained my ankle.
Again, in front of the entire class.

I was so clumsy as a kid that I fell up and down the stairs all the time.
It got so bad for a while that my dad made me crawl up and down the stairs...even when we had company over.

Okay, that is all I can think of for now.
I am positive that there are many MANY more.

How about you, any embarrassing moments for you?
Please share and maybe just maybe we can make another day being house-bound a lot more fun!

I am going to be posting it early and am planning on sharing some stories that I can now find funny.
I would love for you to share too!

Baby it's cold outside...and snowing and icey

As I am sure most everyone knows the snow is falling and we are getting slammed with it.
Not as much as my relatives up in the great state of Michigan are dealing with I am sure, but snow none the less.
GO BIG BLUE!!!
Sorry, I had to give a little shout out.

But for us, this is a lot.
This has been a relentless winter.
We have already had 3 big snowstorms and this current one is a doozy.

While checking the weather reports a few minutes ago the words BLIZZARD and possible -20 windchill for tomorrow night stood out like a sore thumb.
Brrrr.
Now, living in Kansas we see our fair share of bad weather.
Crushing humidity and heat with a side of tornadoes during the summer and bitter cold and snowy winters.
But this year, it just feels like we are getting slammed.

Adison had the day off of school, so the cupcakes and I are nestled snugly in our house.
I have spent the day playing, watching movies, tickling, dancing and making mac & cheese.
The hubs though is at work.
Praying for safe travels for him and everyone else that is out in this mess.

Much to my children's disappointment we will not being heading outside to play.
It's just too cold.

How about you?
Anyone else getting slammed with snow?
