Have a very Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!
I pray that you all have a very blessed day!

Luke 2: 6-12
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in clothes and lying in a manger."

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!
I pray that you all have a wonderful day with your families celebrating the birth of Jesus.
I also pray for a day full of laughter and happiness.

Around here today we've been cleaning the house, having lunch with my Dad and will *hopefully* bake some cookies.

Here is the book that we will be reading after church tonight.

Here is the Book that we will be reading tomorrow.

Here is the book that Adison made for Santa.
It has a few drawings and she asks him some questions.
She even left some pages for him to write back to her.

Here are some pictures of my Christmas elf.
Isn't she a cutie!?!

{She kept trying to poke the camera.}

Last night Adison and I went to a friend's Christmas concert at a really good coffee shop. Every year they perform this beautiful song and they have people come out dressed up like angels. The angels skip around and throw "snowflakes" (confetti) on the audience.
Last night Adison and I were sitting on the floor with a bunch of the kids, they were all scooping snowflakes into Adison's empty cup. Before I knew it they had filled the thing up! I was paying attention to the music and before I realized what was going on A CUP FULL OF SNOWFLAKES were dumped ALL over me! EVERYONE saw and they all laughed, Adison of course laughed the hardest of all. I thought it was really funny too...until I was all itchy and realized the the snowflakes went down my sweater. We got a really big kick out of it! It was a wonderful evening!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
I am so very thankful for each and every one of you!

Another list...sorry!

1. Well, it is almost Christmas. The excitement buzzing around our house is almost palpable. I love it! Today we had to go run a couple of errand and the stores weren't too bad. Don't get me wrong, it was busy and there was a lot of traffic, but this year people are actually nice. What a breath of fresh air!

2. There is a little girl named Getty that has a disease called SMA1. According to their website:

Spinal muscular atrophy is an inherited disease that causes progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. Infants like Getty with SMA Type 1 are born with very little muscle tone, weak muscles, and develop feeding and breathing problems over time. Weakness gets worse over time and will eventually become severe. There is no cure or treatment for the progressive weakness. The lifespan with SMA1 is seldom longer than 2 – 3 years.

Getty is the cutest, sweetest little girl with the most AMAZING parents. They are asking everyone to spread the word about SMA. It is an awful disease and it needs more research being done so that no one else should have to suffer with it. Check out their blog, I am sure that you will be just as enchanted by this little girl's smile and I am. (Here button is on the right side of this page -------->)

3. Adison informed me a little while ago that she told her teachers and classmate about me burning my butt when I was a child. Yes, I burned my butt. We were visiting family and I was getting ready for bed. I was about 3 and was running around naked when my great uncle bent over and squished me in between me and the heater grate. I had horizontal burn marks on my bum for quite a while. Yes, I am so very grateful that that story was shared :)

4. Tomorrow the girls and I are doing our Christmas baking because Santa just has to have those freshly baked cookies.

5. Abby has been eating like a maniac! At my Dad's the other night she ate 4 servings of dinner, she ate more than I did. At lunch she at as much as Ainsley and last night she ate two entire bean burritos by herself. This girl is finally putting on weight. Woo hoo!

6. There is a little baby boy named Samuel that is needing some prayers. Please please please lift him up in prayers!

7. That's all for now folks. I am off to watch a movie with Adison!

I'm done!

Well folks, my Christmas shopping is done!
I finished up last night.
What a relief!
The amazing thing is that I was able to get EVERYTHING on my list and only had to go to TWO stores!

The only thing left to do is buy some food for our Christmas festivities at my brother's house.

Piece.Of.Cake.

What about you?
Are you finished or do you like to wait until the last minute like I do?

Where has this been for all of my years as a mother????

I just want to start off by saying that I am not getting paid to write this and LeapFrog has no idea who I even am.
This darling little puppy, Violet may have just made Abby the happiest 13 month old EVER!
Something that makes my little pumpkin pie this happy HAS to be shared!

Product Image LeapFrog My Pal Violet

I wish wish wish that I had taken some pictures of her, but alas my "Mother of the Year Award" for NEVER-HAVING-HER-CAMERA-ON-HAND has got to me in the mail because yet again, I didn't get any pictures.
So, Abby got this little gem from her Papa aka my Dad.
She is really into cuddling and snuggling stuffed animals and dolls.
So Violet + Abby = Made 4 Each Other!

The really neat thing about sweet Violet is that you can plug her into your computer and personalize her for YOUR little munchkin.
K did this last night.

Violet now says:
Abby's name
Her favorite animal
Her favorite color

You can even pick the little songs that it sings!
The purple paw plays silly little "games."
The green paw plays awake, fun music.
(Including a cute little song spelling Abby's name!)
The blue paw is for sleeping music.

You can personalize this people!
When Violet first said Abby's name Abby looked shocked!
She then got the biggest smile on her face Violet quickly became her bff.
They just need the necklaces to make it official.

Abby rocked and danced and boogied!
This really is a darling present.
They even  have it in green if the purple is not your style.

A list...well because it sounds good

1. Adison's Mountain Group sang at church on Sunday. They sang Third Day's Children of God. It was so wonderful listening to their little voices sing such an amazing song. They also sing the opening music for Sarah Palin's Alaska. K and I saw them in concert a couple of months ago. Their music is amazing, check them out!

2. Someone (I am thinking Ainsley) switched the thermostat from the heater to air conditioning, brrr!

3. Abby's little personality has been showing itself more often lately. She has a TEMPER and a love for baby dolls. It will be interesting to see how her little personality works with the other kiddos.

4. Ainsley today told me that we needed to keep Abby from away from the cat food because if she eats it she will turn into a cat. I have no idea where she comes up with these things. Does she think that our 3 cats used to be children???

5. Adison told me that she is going to miss school during Christmas break, she will miss her teachers and friends. How cute! (That was not me as a child!)

6. We are about half way done with our Christmas shopping. Woo hoo!

7. I am not doing a Christmas card this year, it just seemed like too much. Maybe next year...

8. Happy Monday!

"I want ears"

This morning while Ainsley was taking a bath she said something really funny.
She was playing with her toys and just being cute, 3 is such a magical age.
All of a sudden she stops playing, looks at me and said,
"Mommy, I want ears."
Me: "Huh? Honey you do have ears."
Ains: "No Mommy, I want to have dog ears!"

Ha ha, I have no idea where this silly girl comes up with these things!
