I goofed

To anyone potentially coming over from In this wonderful life I apologize.
I was trying to add a sweet little girl, Annabelle, to the Linky prayer and I wasn't sure how to do it and I accidentally put my own on it.
I am sooo very sorry and embarrassed about making this mistake.
I have emailed Megan to see if there is anyway that my name can be removed.
Again, I am so very sorry for messing up.

Project 365

This year in addition to doing my daily blogs I have decided to also take part in Project 365.
Rather than post a picture every day I am planning on posting them once or twice a week with a little caption or story with it.

January 1: K's birthday card (from the day before). For some reason I feel the need to always buy him silly little kid cards. Why? I have no idea.

January 2: While putting away Christmas decorations we came across the Christmas card tree. K and the girls decided it would be a great hat.

January 3: We all had a touch of a stomach bug. K and the girls were all cuddling and laughing. Making those memories!

January 4: I asked Ainsley to pick up the toys on the floor so that I could vacuum. She put all of the toys in the basket that we keep Abby's Weeble Wobbles in.

January 5: Abby was REALLY happy at dinner last night. She was smiling and talking the entire time. She kept flashing this smile at K.

January 6: Adison's new nutcracker. Every year my mom buys Adison a nutcracker for Christmas. Adison loves collecting them and I think my mom gets a kick out of picking out just the right one. This year's nutcracker has been affectionately named "Fireman Joe." He hangs out at the dining room table with us and makes sure the kids are eating all their dinner, he has also been known to crack a few jokes.

A list about Ainsley

Ainsley, my second born, has been all sorts of silly, sassy and all around goofy lately.
So much so that I felt that she deserved her own list today.

1. Last night she wanted to sleep in a laundry basket.
She even had it all ready when I went to tuck her in.
It had two pillows in it and her blanket.
I felt bad telling her no, but it just didn't seem safe.
It kept slipping and she would say, "Whoa!"

2. She tried to convince K and I that she had made her own burrito after dinner last night.
It was really just some napkins and a spoon wrapped up in aluminium foil.
She was adamant that K eat it.

3. She told me this morning that she didn't like me.
This is the first time this has ever happened with any of my kids.
I had the feeling that Ainsley would be the first to say it.
I was waiting for it.
That didn't mean that I liked it though.
She was made because I was making her pull up her own pants, SHOCKING!!!

4. She is being especially sweet to Abby lately and especially difficult with Adison.
Poor Adison just wants Ains to be nice to her but Ains is not having it.
In fact, if I were a betting person, which I am not, I would say that Ainsley is being mean to Adison simply because Adison wants to be sweet with her.
Not saying that against Ains, that is just the funk she has been in lately.

5. At Walmart today, Ains spotted an older gentleman that looked a bit like Santa.
Ainsley very loudly asked, "Mama, is that Santa?"
She said it loud enough for him to hear and he gave her a candy cane.
How cute/sweet/funny/adorable is that?

6. Ainsley has a remarkable talent for learning and memorizing songs.
You could have her listen to a song a couple of times and she will have the majority of the words memorized.
She has been singing a lot lately.
TobyMac, Taylor Swift, Third Day...pretty much everything.

7. She has been exerting her need to express her personal style.
She has always been girly, but lately it has just been cute.
Her outfits have been very noticeable and she has been cute comments from strangers when we head out.
Here is her outfit from today.
The socks are from my brother and SIL, they are adorable!!!!

8. She wants to have really long hair like Rapunzel's.
She calls it her "princess mermaid" hair.
She WILL not let you even talk about cutting it she loves it so much.

I think that is about it for now.
The day is only half over so I am positive that she will say or do something else to have me rolling with laughter.

My goals

As I stated before, I don't do New Year's Resolutions. Instead, I try to make an overall goal for improvement. Resolutions are just a bit too much for me, I just have such a problem with the follow through, then when there is no possible way that I am going to make it I just slowing drift from my resolution and get frustrated with myself. What good is that doing me? Hence a goal, not nearly as stringent, more forgiving in nature. My goal for the year "laughter, growth, compassion, encouragement and most importantly LOVE!" That to me seems like something that we all work towards that to some degree is attainable.

So I choose to laugh more and to help others find laughter. I choose to grow, not only as a person, but as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and follower of Christ. I choose to have more compassion for others and for myself. I choose to be more encouraging, to really lend a hand and a shoulder. I choose to love and love fiercely. I want to love like Jesus loves, with no reservations or boundaries.

How about you, what are you choosing to do this year?
What are your goals and aspirations?

I don't have anything today, sorry

Howdy folks!
I don't have much for you today, I apologize.
The hubs had the day off today and we had some grand plans.
What we didn't have planned though was to wake up with a slight stomach bug.
So, our day consisted of a quick trip to Walgreen's, Sam's Club and home to nap.
Yes, we all napped.

Abby has taken a few more steps on her own and has kind of started clapping.
Moving in the right direction!
Ainsley was sassy today but it was so cute that K and I had to hide our faces to laugh.
Adison has been a reading machine.
She is reading even more than usual.

Okay, sorry for the sad post, I am hoping to have something more entertaining and lively for you tomorrow.
I hope everyone had a calm Monday and an even better Tuesday.

Love!

P.S. One of my blogging friends found out today that they lost their baby. This is her second miscarriage. Could you please send up some prayers for her and her hubby? Thanks! You guys rock!

The fa la la la la season has officially ended

This morning, while the kids played and had a blast, the hubs and I packed up our yuletide decorations.
Yes, all of our Christmas belongings have been organized, packed up and ready for next year.
Poor Lee was sad to pack up little baby Jesus from our Nativity.
It felt good though to get everything organized and packed a little better for next year.

Now, our house looks like it usually does.
There are sippy cups on the table.
Stuffed animals and dress-up shoes on the floor.
The world is as it should be...or rather how I prefer it.

It has taken me a while to come to terms with the fact that we actually live in our house.
Shocking revelation isn't it!?!
I used to want our house to always look spotless and ready for company.
The problem with that logic though is that it is not even remotely realistic.
Do you know anyone who's home looks like a magazine all of the time?
I certainly don't.
But for some reason I felt the need for our home to be this way.
Wwwwaaaayyyy to stressful.
Finally I had the epiphany that I don't live in a magazine.
I have kids, a husband and cats.
We live in our home.
I mean L-I-V-E in our home.
At any given time there will be roller skates on the floor as well as a doll house with all the dolls in various rooms.
There will more than likely be toys under my table and blankets on the floor from the tumbling and twisting the kids have been showing us.
And you know what, I am 100% okay with it.
Don't get me wrong though, I do still clean and pick up :)

I hope everyone has a great Monday!
See you tomorrow!

It's my birthday!

I am officially 30!
Or as my friend Clara and I talked about it is the 5th anniversary of my 25th birthday.
I guess it is all about how you look at a situation.
Seriously though, I am proud of my 30th birthday.
I have no idea why, but I guess why not?

We had a nice evening last night celebrating hubby's birthday.
We got together with his family for a fantastic lasagna dinner.
I was boring and fell asleep before midnight, I made it to 11:30 though.

Today has been busy!
I went bridesmaid dress shopping with my soon to be sister in law.
We had fun!
Hung out with the family for a bit.
Then we headed out to Barnes & Noble for some treats with my dad and step-mom.
Mmmmm!
We will be celebrating next weekend with my mom.
Good times!

I don't normally do resolutions, so I hope that 2011 is an amazing year. I pray that it is full of laughter, growth, compassion, encouragement and most importantly LOVE!

How did you spend New Year's Eve?
Did/Do you make resolutions?
