I finally went to the doctor

I woke up this morning fever free {yippee!} but my ear was hurting and I was having a sinus headache.
I finally decided that I had had enough and it was time to go to the doctor.
Yes, I am one of those people that avoid going to the doctor when sick.

Adison slept in this morning so I didn't leave as early as I had planned to.
I am really glad that she slept as long as she did, homegirl needed some sleep.
She finally admitted to staying up late in bed reading.
I can't blame her, I was the exact same way!

Shortly after Adison woke up Abby bit it.
Bad.
She tripped on a blanket and hit her head on our little indoor trampoline.
She didn't really cry much but it immediately looked awful.
Rather than freak out about it I decided to take her up to see K so that we could decide together what to do.
Everything else looked good; pupil size, not throwing up, acting fine, not sleeping, in fact she was really happy!
So we decided not to take her in but to keep an eye on it.

Luckily the swelling started going down shortly after this picture was taken.
Ouch, but seriously she could care less.
Kids are tough!

After we left K's work I took the kids to Sonic to pick up some lunch.
We then headed over to the doctor's office.
As it turns out I have a sinus infection and an ear infection.
Yep, antibiotics.
I hope they start working quick.
My ear is hurting!
The kids were marvelous at the doctor's office.
None of the usual shenanigans that usually occur.
Such. a. relief.
Hopefully Abby's head and my ear will be better tomorrow.
I am optimistic folks!

P.S. K is taking Adison to her first baseball game tonight!
I asked him to take lots of pictures so I can share tomorrow.
Oh, it was also a surprise for her.
I love surprising my kiddos.
She was so excited to have some time with Daddy.
Little does she know that there will be other surprise people there too!

Reconsidering my germaphobe-ness

As I mentioned yesterday, I am sick again.
Seriously, AGAIN!!!

If it weren't for the fever or swollen lymph nodes I would be feeling a lot better.
Well, the fever did break this morning, then I got the genius idea to take a shower.
To be honest, it had been far to many days and since I shudder to think of actually how many, we will just go with saying that it was long overdue.
After that the fever decided to come back and it is still hanging around.
Oh well, things could be worse.

There really isn't much going on right now.
My poor kids are probably sooooo bored, but when I get better hopefully we can start having some fun again.

All of this sickness though really has me reconsidering my germaphobe-ness.
I mean, if I am *trying* so hard to prevent the sick bugs yet we still keep getting sick, they WHY am I stressing over it?
Not that I will by any means welcome sickness into my home with loving arms, but maybe there is a lesson to be learned here.
Maybe, just maybe, with all of my paranoia and stress over the kids {as well as K and I} that it really isn't helping.
Don't get me wrong, I will probably continue to obsessively wipe down the shopping carts and restaurant high chairs, but stressing over it just doesn't make any sense.

Who am I kidding?
My kids are 8, 3 and 1, they are probably picking up more sick bugs than I could EVER imagine.
Sigh.
I think that I should just not really worry about it.
Sounds good, now if you could just tell my inner germaphobe to head on out that would be great!

I'm still here

I apologize for not posting this weekend.
I had every intent to, what I didn't intend to do though was get sick.
I have had a fever and been in bed since yesterday morning.

Saturday though, ahh Saturday.
We started the morning with an insurance adjuster coming to our house to check out the roof.
The storm that we had two weeks ago had such awful hail that according to our insurance agent, our town was called a disaster area.
She recommended that we have someone come out and take a look.

We were told that our roof had damage as well as our gutters and the paint.
Oh well, it could have been so much worse.
This is small potatoes.

After the adjuster left we headed over to the farmer's market to pick up some goodies.
We scored some squash, zucchini, asparagus, onions, tomatoes and cilantro.
Yum!
Ainsley got a snake balloon animal and Adison got a blue raspberry snow cone that she shared with her siblings.
She really is an amazing big sister.

Saturday night we had church.

Sunday I woke up feeling AWFUL!
My fever was pretty low grade most of the day and then got higher.
I ended up spending pretty much the entire day in bed.

I woke up this morning feeling the same and still feverish.
K decided to stay home to take care of the kiddos and me.
Such a great hubby!
My friend is bringing us dinner tonight!
Isn't that sweet?

So, I'm still here.
Hanging out in bed.
Resting.

I pray that everyone had a great weekend!

InstaFriday

I know that I have mentioned one or maybe one thousand times, but I LOVE using Instagram.
That is pretty much the only way that I take pictures with my phone anymore.

 Yum!
I mentioned last week that I am loving the new vanilla cupcake Goldfish, well, last night I got the genius idea to mix them with some cashews.
Seriously delicious.
Soooooo good.

This is what our small group is working on this week.
Hubby was going to work on his and asked me to text him what chapters we were working on.
Speaking of this, I need to get crackin'

Out of all the pics I took this week I think that this one is my favorite.
I don't know what it is about this picture that I love so much, but it makes my heart happy.

The big girls were doing some bird watching.
There was a mama bird that wanted to go feed her babies.
The girls were keen to watch.
It was precious.

Okay, so this picture isn't great, but in the center, do you see the triangle looking thing?
It was the tiniest little purple butterfly.
Well, the inside of the wings were purple, the outside were white.

I took this one on Memorial Day.
I dressed the kids and I in our patriotic red, white and blue.
This picture cracks me up because little Abby is my shadow.
You can pretty much bet that anywhere I am she is either there or will be shortly.
I love this stage!

Well, that's it.
Head on over to Life Rearranged and join me!
{You don't have to use Instagram, any phone pics will do.}
Happy Friday y'all!

Five Question Friday

Yippee! It's Friday, it's Friday! Yay!
Since it is Friday that means that it is time for 5 ? Friday!

1. If you had to choose, how would you prefer to choose to spend money...on landscaping or a pool?

2. (Scott likes to get things stirred up...) Death penalty, yay or nay?

3. What's the worst thing your kid has gotten into when you turned your back/blogged/showered/blinked?

4. How often do you REALLY go to the dentist?

5. What is your favorite animal (doesn't have to be a pet-type animal)?

1. Landscaping. Having a pool makes me nervous and I really don't think that my hubby or I would really want to invest the time in cleaning it. I do love swimming though...

2. I would say in general, nay. But, I just don't know...I actually feel really conflicted about it. Ugh, I can't get my thoughts out properly, lets just say nay but sometimes conflicted.

3. Um, well, my three year old recently swallowed a rock, she also took a bite out of a dishwasher soap pack. How about coloring on the walls or dumping food all over the floor. Yikes, mama can't even go to the restroom without fear of them getting into something.

4. I take the kids every 6 months, no questions. Me, well, I don't go as regularly, sigh.

5. My favorite animal hands down are elephants. I just think they are so pretty and sweet.

It's Thrusday and I'm waiting for Friday

Not much going on around here.
I wish that I had SOMETHING interesting so say.
But, I don't.
Bleh, sorry.

Ainsley seems to have come down with a cold.
She is CRANKY and weepy.
I feel really bad for her though, it's no fun being under the weather.
She did do some painting this morning, it was sweet.

Abby is FINALLY being less cranky.
For the majority of the morning she was her sweet, happy self.
It made my heart happy.

Adison has been doing arts and crafts projects lately.
Yesterday she made everyone jewelry and then made an animal parade.
Today she has been drawing and talked about writing a book.
Don't worry, that's not blood under the tiger, it's a painting of cute little hippo.

I am really excited, a new INDOOR childrens center just opened in our town yesterday.
I can't wait to take the girls to it.
Yippee, something fun to do on those hot, humid, miserable summer days.
Well, as well as, the cold, miserable, windy winter days too.
I am honestly thrilled.

Sorry for the boring post, hopefully I will have something fun to write about tomorrow.
{fingers crossed :)}

Sisters

I remember as a little girl wanting a sister.
That desire to have one went back as far as I remember.

I had friends growing up that had sisters and I thought that was the neatest thing.

Not that I didn't love my brother.
He and I had a wonderful relationship.

But there seemed to be something special about sisters.

When I had Adison my hearts desire was for her to be a part of this magical sisterhood.
My mom and I would talk about this.
She always wanted a sister too.
She had two older brothers whom she loved, but she also wanted to experience this.

This desire even traces back to my grandmother who also had two brothers.
She too wanted to have this special relationship.

It appears this has been a  long held family wish.

Then when we found out that Ainsley was a girl I was over the moon.
A boy would have been wonderful and our hearts would have been thrilled, but to give Adison a sister was truly magical.

When we found out that I was pregnant with Abby, I really just wanted a healthy baby.
Finding out that she was a girl there was absolutely no disappointment.
In fact, she was the cherry on top.

Experiencing having three daughters is wonderful.
I can imagine {someday} the bond that these three miracles will have.
I dream of them being best friends.

By the looks of things and with some prayer, I hope that this comes true.
That these magical children will indeed have a lifelong bond.
