The Good, the Bad and the Funny

The Good: we are all ALMOST healthy. It's ALMOST the weekend. I start training for my 5K this weekend, I *need* to be doing it already but I haven't. So I am meeting up with two of my friends, accountability does wonders for me. Adison and Ainsley don't have school on Friday, I'm thinking we will make it a pajama day instead. K bought me a sweet red and black plaid, vintage wool coat on eBay, I need to take a pic and share.

The Bad: Abby is our holdout sickie right now. Poor baby spent her morning laying on the recliner with a pillow and blanket. She is a cuddly sickie though so those extra cuddles were greatly appreciated. Headaches, I have had a headache for the last three days. I'm thinking it's probably allergies, dang weather. 

The Funny: Dinner prep time was kind of hectic on Tuesday night. As I've mentioned before, Tuesday at our home = Pizza Tuesday. Normally, from start to finish, making the pizza dough to pulling it out of the oven takes about an hour. Adison had her first trial martial arts class and we had to be there by 6:00. K though, doesn't get home until after 5:15 and we had to leave by 5:45. Sigh. With three kids and it being the witching hour, eek!, I knew that time could be against me. Plus, um, time and I aren't exactly friends, we tend to run late. I hurriedly got the pizza dough mixed and it was resting for 5 minutes, in the meantime I was rushing around the kitchen getting everything else. Pizza sauce- check, pepperoni- check, garlic powder- check, Italian seasoning- check, cheese ... I pulled the cheese out of the cheese drawer ... mozzarella did just fine {Abby standing next to me crying, older girls fighting}, I grabbed the bag of cheddar ... someone forgot to seal the bag and cheese went EVERYWHERE. Simply everywhere.

Abby, precious baby toddler that she is, stopped temper tantruming I help clean up, Mama. Goodness gracious, it was a MESS! Fortunately, I didn't have time to get upset, instead, well, after the shock wore off, it was funny. So funny in fact that I decided to blame K for the entire thing and sent him a picture of the mess and said that HE forgot to seal the bag. {He probably didn't, but it sure is fun to blame him, he he.}

Cupcake Happy {Vol. 5~Daydreaming Fool}

I wanted to share with you who made me incredibly happy this week.

I have blogged about her before, but it bears repeating that she is one of my all-time favorite bloggers/people/friends evah.

She is seriously supportive and funny and just lovely.

I have to share something so incredibly sweet and thoughtful that she did.

While visiting Niagra Falls {on my bucket list of places to visit}, via Twitter, she offered to send postcards.

I asked her if she would mind sending one to us and she replied that she would.

Lo and behold, she sent each of the girls one as well as one to K and I.

She even wrote the sweetest messages on the back of each one AND picked out different postcards for all of us.

 

The girls were so excited to get some pretty mail and felt so incredibly special.

Huge smiles decorated every face and a warm fuzzy feeling resided in the heart.

Virtual Coffee

Amy over at Lucky Number13 hosts Virtual Coffee,  I thought it would be a fun idea to join in.

After all, I do love coffee and love imagining that we are friends catching up over a cup of coffee.

Yum, just looking at that makes me want to go make another cup.

Yesterday at Sam's Club we got some Dunkin Donuts coffee, I have to admit, it's good.

If we were sitting down for coffee I would tell you about Ainsley's ballet lesson yesterday.

She loved it.

I was able to peek in and see her, she was doing so well.

She was paying attention and doing what her teachers asked her to.

After class she told me that she wanted to be a ballet teacher when she grows up.

Did I tell you that I did ballet as a child?
I absolutely loved it and seeing Ainsley all dressed up brought back so many fun memories.

If we were meeting for coffee I would want to tell you about a wonderful encounter I had while Lee was in ballet class.

When we got there I noticed this darling baby girl.

She looked so familiar and I was trying to figure out why.

I had a sneaking suspicion that her parents write a blog about her and they live in our fair city but I wasn't 100% sure and I didn't want to look like a weirdo for asking if it was her.

But, a nudging to ask just wouldn't go away.

Finally I did and it was in fact Faith.

Faith is a precious little girl full of smiles.

She has spina bifida and will be having an MRI today during which that have to sedate and intubate her, would you join me in praying for her? 

It was such a neat experience to be able to chat with her mom, I look forward to seeing them next week!

If were meeting for coffee I would tell you have fine Adison is feeling.

She seems to think it was something she ate not agreeing with her stomach.

I have no idea other than to say that I am happy that she is feeling well.

This morning she has been building blocks with Abby.

It has been a nice, quiet morning at home.

This afternoon she has her first karate lesson, she's really excited.

I would also tell you how much I love huge flowers in little girls hair.

This flower is massive and I am so happy that Abby has enough hair to support it, ha!

 I would tell you how much I love blogging, not just for the memory making and cataloging that goes on but also for the community and fellowship.
I love that there are a bunch of amazing ladies that I have never met in real life but truly consider my friends.


I would also tell you that I need to skedaddle, I need to make lunch, Lee gets of the bus soon and baby B is napping.

Data entry and spring cleaning

Today, while Abby slept I worked on some data entry.

Did I tell you that I am on a subcommittee for the PTO?
Well, for that committee I am on another subcommittee, awesome sauce.

For the second subcommittee we are working on a study topic trying to find out about communication among other things between schools and parents.

We were expecting to get maybe a couple hundred responses and were thrilled to get close to 900.

Such a great number!

We have a couple hundred paper copies of the survey that need to be entered so we can tally results and whatnot.

So that has been my mission, get my portion of the written surveys entered.

You know what I've discovered?
I really enjoy data entry.

Yep, that's right.


This morning around 11 o'clock I got a call from Adison's school, she puked.
I was worried about her, my poor baby.
But then, I get there, she's laying down on the cot/bed thing and she says, Mommy, I feel fine.
Oh, okay.
 We are 99% sure it was from her donuts, sugar overload.
Now she's home for two days, score!
We of course had to stop by Sonic to pick up a Sprite for her and treat her sisters to Sprites too.

Spring Cleaning.

The kids DE-MOL-ISH-ED the house on Saturday.
I had been putting off doing a big cleaning but K took one look at it and declared it time.
For a while the house was even messier but then, at long last, it was clean.
Less than 24 hours later it was trashed again.
But at least it was a clean trashed???

Ainsley starts ballet tonight.
She is beyond excited and told me earlier that she wanted to go right then and wait outside there until is started.
Too bad it was like 5 hours before then.

I minimized the toys and clutter.
I was seriously feeling overwhelmed by all the stuff in our house.

We celebrated my Dad's birthday this weekend.
It was a lot of fun, good food, wonderful company.
Such a nice celebration!

Hello my dears, can you believe that it is Friday?
This week has flown by!

Today is my Dad's birthday!Happy birthday, Dad!!!!!

Abby can be such a goofball at times.

This is my hat and I am a robot.

All of my girls have gone through a robot faze, too funny.

These fruit snacks were so good.

I say "were" because we finished them off in record time.

They had fruit and vegetable juice in them.

So. good.

The prompt for yesterday was: Up.

Yesterday it was 70 and sunny, this morning, we woke up to snow.

Yep, that's Kansas for ya.

While at the grocery store earlier in the week I spied this creamer that I have heard so much about.

I have to say it was delicious.

I like it *almost* as much as my caramel macchiato.

It might be half gone already.

This is such a perfect picture of the "Terrible Two's".

Abby sat down on our walk last Sunday and declared: I not gonna do it.

She wanted her way and that was it.

There is something so funny now about this stage, maybe it's because she's our last, but it cracks me up.

1. We went to Couer d' Alene, ID seven or so years ago. We went hiking in the mountains everyday and spent so much time outside. It was such a picturesque place to be.

2. My coffee creamer, I love it. I enjoy it every morning. I've even taking to getting a few different kinds that way I can choose what to savor that morning...or afternoon...or evening.

3. I would say that I am loving all of the beautiful colors and patterns that are out now. I love that there are so many different looks and options to choose from.

4. Sleep in, relax and enjoy a change of pace.

5. Baby names that I don't like are the names that kids won't be taken seriously with as adults. When K and I named our girls I wanted them to have names that they could be CEO's or President of the United States with. Naming someone is a huge responsibility.

The Good: Ainsley seems to have finally kicked the blah bug that she caught. Adison is super excited, she is going to try a karate class next week. Ainsley starts ballet next Monday, the level of excitement over this is unbelievable. Abby, well, she has definitely found her own voice. She has no problem telling her sister or K and I for that matter what she thinks about anything and everything. On the flip side of that though, she is showing the biggest heart ever. She is such a sweet little nurturer. She also went into her own aged class as church last week rather than going with the younger kids, woo hoo Ab-ster!

The Bad: Ainsley seems to have kicked the blah bug that she caught. Homegirl, woo, she is a HANDFUL when getting over any type of bug. 

The Funny: I cannot help but laugh sometimes when people fall. It's embarrassing to admit, but I just can't help it. I laugh at myself when I fall as well, so at least there's that, right?
