Fastest feet

(This picture has nothing to do with the post, I just thought it was funny.)

I was just informed by Adison while she is cutting out letters for her homework, "I am not the fastest with my hands in the United States, I am the fastest with my feet." I thought I would share this just in case you were wondering who had the fastest feet in the U.S.

That is all I have for today good people, return to your daily lives.
(I have always wanted to say that, sorry!)

Sunday in the sun

Our church has started having some new service times, we now attend church on Saturday nights. K and I have decided since our Sunday morning is now open to use that time to spend as a family, enjoying time together for some added bonding.

Most Sundays, we go to a park and play. Today though, we decided to do a picnic. It was so much fun, I think that Abby enjoyed herself the most :)

Our picnic site, right next to the Rose Garden and the pond.

Eating our lunch.

My after dinner view

Adison's third tooth should be falling out any time now, please!

Yummy! More chocolate please!

Sweet little flower child.

After dinner, K and Ainsley were playing around and K accidentally pushed on Lee's stomach. She then threw up a little on him and to make matters worse, she smeared it into his shirt. Yuck!

Some snap shots and a little post

Here is a little look into a day with my younger two. We worked on some music, counting (with chocolate- the only way to learn counting!) and colors. Like most moms, we teach throughout the day, using all sorts of real life experiences to teach our kiddos. We do the same in our house and today I thought ahead to show you some cute pics of our day.

Good morning Sunshine!

Big girl playing the keyboard.

Sisters playing together (and not fighting over it!).

Happy little snorty face!

Ainsley said, "I love my sister so much!"

Ains said,"Take a picture wif my face yike dis."

Still playing nicely!

Another, "Take a picture wif my face yike dis."

So precious!

Relaxing as a mom

I have been thinking about how different it is raising a baby this time around. Granted, it is never easy, but it is so much less stressful and dare I say, enjoyable than the first time. Here is an insight into my recent thoughts.

When I had Adison, I was scheduled for feeding, napping, pooping, blinking (just kidding), I was soooo scheduled. It was surreal. She was our first, K and I were having to figure this whole baby thing out on our own. Plus, she was a tough baby. She cried, A LOT, and didn't sleep much. Nursing never went well and believe me, I tried for weeks. She then had to be on soy formula and the list goes on and on and on. I remember being so uptight and nervous. Then she grew older and I remember being so tightly wound about pretty much everything.

During this time, I remember taking the time to shower everyday, blow dry my hair and style it, put on all of my make-up (if you know me, that is still a must today) and get all cute. Even if I didn't go anywhere.

Then we finally had Ainsley. I still tried to maintain a baby schedule, but it wasn't quite as easy. I watched the clock to be on top of things. But other things, just had to slide.

I still had time/energy to shower almost everyday, the hair became a little less done, make-up was still on and the clothes...well they became a little bit more relaxed.

Finally came Abby. At this point (maybe b/c the little two are just over two years apart) all schedules went right out the window. I still kept an eye on the clock so that I could guesstimate Abby's eating/sleeping needs. But, I was so much more relaxed this time. I knew that the important things would get done, but other things just might not happen that day. My children would be well loved, feed and clean. But, the house might look like a tornado struck. Some days, I didn't do any housework, why, because some days I was just too tired/worn out/spent. Not that it wasn't a good feeling, but there is only so much to give and I daily chose/choose to give my all to my family not things.

Showering started happening every day to every other day, hair was typically air dried or up in a ponytail, make-up was done (b/c hello have you met me?), clothes- well those typically were yoga paints and a t-shirt or sweatshirt (glamorous aren't I?).

I also started noticing that I would let certain things with the kids slide. Where once I was adamant about something, now I just have to pick and choose my battles. Why, because I choose to and because I have to. I just can't do everything all the time and at once. (Shocker, I know!)

I guess the point of all of this is to say that I find myself relaxing more and cutting some corners. I find myself enjoying my kids more and loving all of it more.

I guess that is it and on K's suggestion, the ending of this post shall be:

The end.

Adison started 2nd grade!

My first born, Adison, started 2nd grade. She was so excited, not a drop of nervousness in her.

I for once, was not nervous. I know her teacher, the other teachers, her classmates and pretty much everyone that comes into contact with my outgoing girl.

The neat thing about my girl, is that everyone knows her. Everyone is her buddy or her favorite teacher. I like this about my girl. She always has a hug ready and a smile on her face.

Here she is greeting one of her buddies. She was so excited, this was pretty much the best day ever in her mind.

Off she goes, ready to conquer the world.

A few days into school, she hops in the van after school and tells me:
A: "I told one of my friends that I am the coolest kid in school."
Me: "Really, did they agree?"
A: "Yes they did!"
Me: "Well, there ya go."

Ainsley cried when we dropped Adison off that first day, she cried for a full 20 minutes. The people that walked by us clearly understood her reasons for crying and were very sympathetic. It was so sad, but I knew that this meant that Ains would be soooo excited to pick up her sister from that first day of school. I was right, it was awesome!

We capped off her first day by heading to Sonic for some slushes & hitting the park. What a great day!

Not sure what to blog about

Hello all! I haven't blogged for a while. I keep wanting to, but I almost feel like I need to have a topic. Otherwise, I just blog about what has been going on. Not that that is a bad thing, but I wish that I could write about other things too. I think that it is the inner diplomat, non-wave maker in me that resists this, or maybe I am being lazy, it could be either or neither. Whatever the case may be, I will give another update. Aren't you so very lucky!!!

Well, I will start with myself, simply because I can! I had a hysterectomy two weeks ago. I don't know why I didn't blog about it sooner, but it felt weird. I never posted anything about it on Facebook either, I know, I'm being weird. But, I had a hysterectomy. I know that I am young to have it done, but it was time. I am also the third generation of women in my family who have had it done. I am still recovering, but am getting stronger each day.

The week after my surgery, the girls and I stayed in KC. K's parents are amazing and they offered to take care of us. It was wonderful, I would NOT have been able to take care of three kids and myself during that time. Thanks Bob & Terrie!!!

Adison started 2nd grade...I will give you a moment to let that fact sink in. It is difficult for me to comprehend, it makes me sad. My baby, my first-born is growing up. She is psyched, she got the teacher that she wanted and some of her friends are in her class. Her only upset is that her bff is not in there with her, but they always have recess.

Ainsley, not quite sure what to say about her. She is such a two year old. Ains or Lee, we call her either, is a RIOT!!! She is a wonderful big sister to Abby and keeps Adison on her toes. She is such a little princess too! Anything pink, frilly and girly make her little heart go pitter-patter.

Abby or Babby Cakes is so freakin' cute. I am so grateful that she is my third. I am relaxed and have had enough experience to really enjoy her. She is such a sweet, wonderful, amazing, cute, charming, enchanting baby. Can you tell that I am simply gaga over this girl.

I am constantly amazed at how different my three girls are. I love them all equally but love their individuality. God is amazing, He made these darling girls and gave K & I the honor of raising them.

All three kiddos are happily sleeping, I am off to read a book, rest & hang out with my hubby~
